Tabi Books is a small, independent bookstore, specialising in Japanese language learning. We carry textbooks, workbooks, and other study materials for learners across Australia and New Zealand.

The Japanese learning community is large, and there's no shortage of resources out there. The harder part is knowing what to study at each stage, and what's actually worth buying. We curate a limited selection of established materials and organise them into study paths based on level and purpose, marking what's core, what's supplementary, and what's optional. These aren't fixed; swap things out, skip what doesn't fit, adjust as you go. When free or cheaper resources do the job, we'll say so.

Selling books is how this stays running. When we recommend something from our own stock, we'll make that clear.

We're a small bookstore. Prices reflect what it costs to get books here and keep things running. We won't always be the cheapest, but we try to be fair.
