JLPT Speed Master N2 Listening Comprehension

JLPT Speed Master N2 Listening has three sections. The warm-up reviews vocabulary and phrases that commonly appear in listening scripts, organized by theme. The practice section works through all five N2 listening question types: task comprehension, point comprehension, general comprehension, quick response, and integrated comprehension. It includes two mock tests. This is the audio download edition. Answers and scripts are in a separate booklet with English, Chinese, and Korean translations.

Speed Master's biggest strength here is the volume of practice. Part 1 alone has three to four times as many questions per type as the actual exam, and the two mock tests add more on top. Shin Kanzen Master N2 Listening takes a different approach, teaching note-taking and active listening strategies with targeted exercises that go beyond JLPT format, but it has no translations and only one mock test. Nihongo Sou Matome N2 Listening is the most accessible of the three and was recommended by several reviewers as a better starting point.
