JLPT Speed Master N3 Listening Comprehension

JLPT Speed Master N3 Listening covers all five question types from the exam: task comprehension, point comprehension, general comprehension, verbal expression, and quick response. A warm-up section breaks down features of spoken Japanese including sound changes, sentence-ending intonation, and set phrases. Practice questions follow the exam format for each question type, and there are two mock tests at the end. Scripts and answers are in a separate booklet. This is the audio download edition (June 2025), replacing the earlier CD version with the same content.

Speed Master Listening is exam simulation with a brief warm-up. The warm-up on spoken Japanese is useful because N3 introduces casual speech patterns and sound contractions that don't appear at N4. It has two mock tests. If you can already follow conversational Japanese and need exam practice, this is the one. If you need to build up your listening skills, go with Sou Matome. If you need strategies, go with Shin Kanzen Master.
