JLPT Speed Master N4 Reading Comprehension

JLPT Speed Master N4 Reading Comprehension follows a three-stage structure. Part 1 is a warm-up section covering reading strategies and foundational skills with drills. Part 2 has practice questions organized by JLPT question type. Part 3 has two mock tests. Answers are in a separate booklet with key sentence translations.

This works as a bridge between coursebook reading and JLPT reading. The warm-up teaches you how to read efficiently before you start drilling exam-format questions. Japanese teachers note that Speed Master reading at N4 tends to be slightly easier than competitors and has more furigana, which lowers the barrier for learners from non-kanji backgrounds. At N4, language knowledge and reading are scored as a single block, so weak reading directly pulls down your overall score.
